hi my bro has had cirrhosis for 11 years he has been drinking the last 2 years.which has resulted in alcohol brain damage.yesterday he got admitted to hospital with ascites and low blood pressure 90/55 I'm just wondering what's next

I'm sorry to hear your brother is in hospital. I have liver cirrhosis but I stopped drinking, I am currently on the waiting list for a liver transplant. I don't know what the next steps are for you, but there will be someone on this site that maybe able to help you. But speak to the Dr's, speak to the help like on the BLT website, talk to your brother.

Hi Debz, My brother became very ill last month after years of drinking. He has sworn off for the moment but I just don't know. My heart goes to to you. I was lucky I have been sober since 1991 through AA but it is not what my brother says he wants. It was a life saver for me and the Al-Anon programme for friends and family may give you some support. xx
