Hi Blad,

I cannot really much, as my liver-ish issues are in a completely different zone.

However, as one introvert to another, I just wanted to say 'Hello' and let you know that you are not alone. I noticed that no-one has answered yet, and one of the problems I've noticed about these sites, is that very few people come on here at weekends. So, if you don't get much response, try re-posting in a few days. Meanwhile, it may help to get printouts of all results from your Medics - you are supposed to get copies as a 'right' in the UK, though they may be online at your practice - as then you can give more exact details once you can chat to anyone who understands this area, especially if you talk to the BLT - see next paragraph!

You could also talk to the advisors at the 'British Liver Trust'. They host this site and I think clicking on their logo, above, or just Googling the name, will get you a link to their site for email and phone contact details. They are really supportive and knowledgeable - and used to hearing everything, so don't worry. There is also a site for the 'PBC Foundation', and although they are concerned with the autoimmune liver condition, PBC, the members who talk on the site are often very knowledgeable about all things liver, so a few may be able to help.

Sorry I cannot add any more, but I hope this helps.

Take care, Gritty.

Hello blad,

have you been diagnosed by your GP or dod you just check the report? Has he told you that you are Hepatitis B positive?

If not, there is a possibility that he did not mention it because he thought you have just been immunized.

Interpreting Hep B labs is a bit tricky. It is not black and white.

One of the different 'positive' test results signifies that you have been in contact with the virus but not sufficiently to develop the disease.

In this case doctors might just think that you have been immunized artificially. It can happen by chance, as well. Happened to me. I must have been in contact with the virus. I asked the GP because I was worried, that is why I remember...

Talk to your GP with regards to the results.

Good luck,

P.

P.S.: I seem to remember to have read something like Hb surface gene+ in my days.

Later they gave me three vaccine shots, anyway.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

It may be a good idea to make an appointment with your GP as soon as possible and find out exactly what the test results mean.

Your Gp is best placed to discuss the results with you and if needed refer you on for more specific tests and investigations.

Best wishes,

BLT admin
