Strange symptoms?

I was diagnosed with cirrhosis about 6 weeks ago. Since then, various scans and oscopies have revealed "3 fingers" of cirrhosis and a hiatus hernia. Slight swelling of portal veins. I wasn't given any medication or diet advice - have an appointmennt to see Mr Gastro in 4 months time. In the meantime I'll see my GP (when the Rottweiler of a receptionist will let me) for advice.

My symptoms at the moment are swollen legs and ankles, up several times per night to wee, night sweats and a persistent dry cough.

Can anyone shed any light on the excess urination at night and the cough? NB the U/S at the bladder clinic showed no abnormality.

Thanks all.
