Liver function

Should I be worried the doctor has orderd a repeat liver function test this is the sixth one in 2 months and every one has been abnormal so far when I ask the doctor he just says try not to worry about it

What is abnormal do you know?

If not ask for a copy of your bloods and check on the British Liver Site to see how far they are away from normal and then if they are pursue the issue with the hospital via your GP who cannot refuse.

Hi,

It may be a good idea to ask the GP to interpret exactly what is abnormal about the results and what that may indicate.

If the results remain abnormal, then you can discuss with the GP about requesting a scan of your liver and ask to be referred to a liver specialist for more investigation.
