High AST levels

Dear all,

I recently had my bloods and lft done. Everything was fine except ast levels which were 119 and c reactive was 1.1.

Could this be because of taking herbal medicine like liv 52. Could it be because of intense excercise? I have a docs appointment next week but would be great to know your thoughts. Thanks in advance

Dear Abidhasan81

For a full clinical assessment that will include other blood results, past history etc I'd advise you to wait and discuss this at your appointment. Make sure your Doctor knows you are taking 'Liv52' and take any information you have on this with you.

Thanks Andrew,

I will update once I see my doctor.

My blood work is fine and so are all the other LFTs and my fibro scan is at 4.9.

The background to this is that a year and a half ago I had Hep A followed by liver failure, INR went up to 2.4. This is because I was stupid enough to drink when unwell, not knowing my condition.

My Fibro scan was 7.7, 6 months later 6.5, 6 months on 5.5 and another six months on, as in now it is 4.9.

However I have had loose mushy blackish stools for some time but non of my test results indicate anything. I guess this could be because of liv.52.

Anyways will write when I know more. if anyone has any experience regarding this please do advise.

Hi there; yes I would do as Andrew has said. My fibro score was 27 which is higher than your 4.9 .I have to go back on 9th may for liver scan. I have been living with cirrhosis 9 years now caused by alcohol. Good luck 😊Linda
