What is your condition Ladyzana22? Advice on food stuffs varies dependent on the underlying cause of your ill health. You wouldn't need to be dairy free unless you were lactose intolerant. No salt & limited sugar are sensible in looking after your liver BUT what further advice can be shared depends on how damaged your liver is or what condition you have.

There is general diet advice at the British Liver Trust website:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/li...

If you look down the side of that page there are also links to diets for those with particular conditions etc.

All the best, Katie

Have you tried any vegan recipes? There are lots of free recipes on the internet. As you aren't vegan you can even add meat or fish but as vegans don't eat any animal products you are free of dairy.

Almond, coconut, rice, soy milk are all good ...(though why do you need to cut out dairy?) Fructose... Fruit sugars are fine and can curb any sweet tooth..try snacking on dates/apricots, variety of fresh or dried fruits, local honey is tons better for you than supermarket if you can get it. Cutting out salt, try seasoning with herbs and spices, soy sauce.. Avoid processed food and junk. Eating healthy is great! From sourcing as best as we can, to cooking with love, and enjoying new recipes and foods! Keep it as simple as possible. ☺

Except soy sauce is incredibly high in salt. Not sure why the dairy. If you are going on that restricted a diet then watch your protein intake. Liver disease makes it harder to absorb protein. There is a thing called the Dash diet for lowering blood pressure they do a recipe book which has loads of low salt recipes. Also British heart foundation website has lots for free. Holland and Barratt do a range of salt free seasonings. Unusual things high in salt are celery, ketchup and lots of sauces. Watch out for things like hot chocolate, report last week that one brand contained 16 times RDA per mug!

Check out my instagram @aaroncaldervegan going vegan has transformed my health. I have chronic liver disease but avoiding meat, dairy and eggs has had such an amazing effect my doctor asked what I was doing differently when she saw my last blood results. I eat different foods every day and don't go without.
