Cirrhotic liver

Hi there.

After an ultrasound scan,results said slightly enlarged liver and spleen,and was cirrhotic. I was scared thought it was over.

I drank a lot over my life,packed it in when result was given.

Had a few relapses but this latest one has been a week

Ive had no pain. any advice please.

Ahhh.please stay strong.i have to admit i never relasped once,drinking from 16_45 i never new i was ill untill i woke up with a huge stomach and was kept in for nine months.that was a wakeup call.please try your best and dont give up.

If you give up booze you will feel sooo much better. I expect you think you don't feel too bad at the moment but you'll be surprised. What do you drink? I used to drink Tennants strong lager years ago then I had a long lasting affair with Stella. So now I do have an occasional drink but never go near Stella. I tried once, it was not nice tasting but I knew if I stuck at it I could get the taste for it again so that's the one thing I don't do. Everyone is different,I found saying that I never would have a drink was just pushing me in the wrong direction. Now I hardly think about it so that works for me. Perhaps not ideal but a lot better than where I was. You need to permanently help your liver along, loads of water, thats water not coca cola or energy drinks. And try to find a way of letting your liver have a break. Good luck and strength. xx

Curiousity emma do you have cirrhosis? Just wondering if the odd drink has caused any problems if so?
