Fib roscan results
I thought a fibro scan under 8 was a normal reading..i could be wrong but cirrhosis readings are normally higher than this...if that is the case watch your diet and watch what you drink in terms of alcohol and i think things will improve . X
There is a chart online which shows what is normal and my recollection was that this was normal. (It varies for different types of liver disease, according to the chart.) I understand the Fibroscan struggles to identify variants of mild damage, though. Was the Doctor a hospital doctor or a GP?
I will try to post a link to the Fibroscan score chart that is used in the UK, so that you can see how the scores are interpreted for different liver problems. scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.ne...
I have tried the link out and it seems to work as long as you click on the whole address. As you can see, the numbers are interpreted differently depending on what the livr issue is. Hope this helps.
The only specialist I trust considers the fibroscan a waste of time. And if you get the scan when you have ascites you will get a false high reading anyway. over 20 or so is meant to be danger territory.
6 is a low score but it may get worse if you don't get treatment for your hep c. Have you been referrred to a specialist for treatment?
