Yes my husband had one a few years back before transplant
thanks carmik do you remember why and wether it showed anything. was it close to assessment??? cazer
Hi cazer, I had one when I first saw the hematologist down at derriford in 2012. I mentioned I was forgetting words etc so they gave me a blood test for ammonia and did the eeg or was it EEC? Can't remember, it involved lots of leads attached to the head and me sitting still not talking for 20 mins or so. Both tests were normal in my case and the difficulties I was having were attributed to the severe fatigue I suffer from. Its good they are doing the test if you're having signs of H.E.
Don't necessarily think its a problem that speeds up TP assessment, just if found then they'll want to treat it.
Best of luck,
E
thanks for reply practically only other person who seems to have had one. wasn't sure if it was to rule out any other cause. yes its headscan with leads as you say.
