Stich like sensation

Hi All, am new here, so please be gentle.

I don't have a diagnosis, but have noticed a stich like sensation, high up on my right side, and a feeling like I am almost bruised, but no external signs. IS this a symptom anyone else has experienced at all please? thank you in advance.

Hi, pains in the side affect every one in life. If the pains concern you go to your GP.

this sounds like gallstones. however as has been said it could be anything so get it checked out. i had exactly the same symptoms and it was gallstones. it was very tender to the touch as you say like a bruise. and it also felt like a pulling stitch sensation there were many other symptoms the pain was under the right rib mostly and round my back in between my shoulders i also had stomach cramps and the longer i waited on the operation to have my gallbladder removed the more the symptoms came and went and changed. dont wait as the doctors are going to be shut during the holidays so try and go now and get checked out as if it is gallstones things can change dramatically quickly. all the very best to you. love grace xoxo

Hi Brummi, I often get the same. I had my gall bladder removed when I had a liver transplant. Does anyone know if you can still have problems when there isn't one there anymore ?

Hi Louise, the gall bladder is removed when a liver is transplanted, from what I understand there will a little discomfort once in a while. Whilst in the we hospital I was chatting to a soldier who had lost a leg and he said he had an itch once on his missing leg, seems like his body still thought his leg was still there. Still have a word with you GP.

yes you can still have problems after the gallbladder removal i will just talk about the importance of diet and the fact that once the gallbladder has gone many people myself included thought that it was the gallbladder that made the stones so once its gone then no more stones, however its the liver that makes the stones and they end up in the gallbladder, causing many painful symptoms and problems. however i was in and out of hopital quite a few times with problems with my gallstones before i actully had the gallbladder removed and i met a few women in hosptital who had had thier gallbladder removed and yet they had stones stuck in thier bile ducts. you can also get stones that land up in other parts of the body as i saw pics of those in an exray. its still important to eat a low fat diet as the fattier the meal the more bile is needed to digest the meal.its also important to eat good food and exercise too. drink plenty water to keep the system flushed out.

Hi I had this it was like a severe stitch . It would start at any time and literally tool my breath away,it started on one side, then it could be either side. At my routine endo they found that I had the start of a Hiatus Hernia, so put on tabs for a month , gradually stopped, and not had them since, so looks like the hernia was stopped before becoming too bad.

Hi v1ckyr, My problem started like yours many years ago but has gotten much worse. It was only recently that gall stones were mentioned. The medical profession seems to be overwhelmed with this complaint at the moment but go see your doctor and mention that you feel it could be gall stones. You will probably be sent for an ultra sound scan as this would show them up. Best of luck and hope you get sorted soon.
