tonsil very sore but no cold..dr thinks my immune systen is very low due to chirrosis...is this the case? And what about antibiotics

Hi all

Up to my varice bleed six weeks ago I felt OK but then had two varice bandings and feel even worse..now have a sort of very sore slightly swollen tonsil and no cold, GP isnt sure what it is but says immune system gets low with chirrosis. He gave me antibiotics ..a short dose but I know they can affect the liver, at the same time throat is not getting better..been five days and it is getting sorer! Any ideas would br appreciated. I have PBC by the way. Thanks

I wouldn't worry about the antibiotics if the Dr is aware of your liver. I think what your Dr said sounds reasonable about the immune system being low. Just keep an eye on it and go back if it gets worse.
