The golden rules of cirrhosis are a high protein, low salt diet. High protein foods are beans, pulses and meat. Processed food is generally high in salt, so be careful of that.

Hello, my husband has chirrosis and i do the cooking, he es on a low Sodium diet, lots of fruits and fresh vegetables, almost no chesse, soy milk, milk thistle, no can foods, lots of beans, lentills, rice, fresh bread, no candies and homemade mermelade, not a bit of ham, sausace or any thing with lots of Sodium, natural peanuts and nuts, lots of garlic and speenach. Avocado, meat just 2 times a week, eggs, poultry and fish, he skipped pork meat.

The nutricionist suggested us that he needs to eat 5 meals a Day instead of 3 big ones, he works a lot and when he cannot eat a proper meal he has Ensure, wich is a can that is supposed to be equal as a meal, i will be happy to share some recipes with You, hes variocose episode was almost three years ago and i started to cook special meals for him, i almost forgot coconut oil and aromatic herbs to add flavor. Best wishes for You from México : )
