Diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, found out cancer free, but diagnosed with cirrhosis and fatty liver disease 6 months ago. Quit drinking and interested if any one has taken any of the homeopathic supplements for this condition and has it helped?

I know some people are very wary of supplements but I would swear by Milk Thistle it's a brilliant supplement that helps the liver cope with toxins , some even claim that it reverses some damage my fibroscan in one year has gone from 68 to 40 so it's worked like a miracle for me!

Hi nothing is going to help the reversal of cirrhosis now sorry to tell you. Best thing you can do is just eat fresh foods and little but often. And no salt

Homeopathic supplements are a con and will not do anything for your cirrhosis. Best bet is good diet, absolutely no alcohol and continued support from GP who can help monitor the damage and any evidence of HCC.

It is an industry that has no formal regulation. Many items listed as food stuff, but still find ways to bypass food standards. A recent BBC programmes found a large amount of these supplements didn't even contain the active ingredients they were claiming to be. I say stick to safe, well regulated and managed modern medicines, prescribed by doctors!! Giving your liver extra to do just seems counter intuitive.

Also people having miraculous changes to fibro scan results don't know if that would have happened without the milk thistle. When I had my fibro scan, the hepatologist told me it can be affected by food, drinks in the stomach, that youve eaten within the last hour, so large amount of carbs, will give a different result than an empty stomach. The same person can have massive changes in result, on any given day. Once you are in the upper limits there is no real difference between 30 and say 60 - if its showing cirrhosis, that's what it is, no matter what the numbers say!!

unless you have vitamin deficiency which you may have then I would avoid supplements of any kind, homeopathic or not-agree with the others-good diet, exercise

and low salt and no alcohol would be the best regime
