Hi, yes I'm prone to low sodium levels, the water tabs I am on made the problem worse, it needs to be closely monitored as things can get quite nasty quite quickly. Mine dropped quite low a few months ago, it makes you feel very ill indeed. Nausea, palpitations fatigue headache and kidneys start struggling. R u suffering with low sodium? R u on any diuretics? If so you need to see GP.

I am able to take one Spironolacatone a week. The low brain sodium causes us to black out or have a seizure. It has happened to me and in my sleep. I woke up sick then blacked out. The only issue it creates for me is that I am carrying four or five lbs. of fluid. I just live with that, exercise to manage it. I'd like to learn as much as I can about managing it. Thank you for describing all the ways it causes you to feel. I am sorry you have it too.

That must have been scary for you! It's a horrible feeling swelling up when the meds are reduced- catch 22 very frustrating. Hope things improve for you.

Yes my husband level have come down again so he has had to come off the water tablets until it goes back up again but meanwhile his legs are swelling again don't know the answer to that one I wished we did will let you know if we do.

Thus far only my abdomen swells and not very much unless it turns into Ascetis then its scary. Is your husband elevating his legs, that helps. I only had mine swell on my treatment to kill hep c with Olysio and Solvaldi. It was so disappointing as I am a cyclist and it had never happened before. Its a shame the dieuritics make us dangerously ill suddenly. I feel much better taking Spironolacatone but I am allowed only one small dose a week for the fluid I hold. Good luck to you. Thank you. Its better to not feel so alone in this, most others can take meds for it but a tiny population of us cannot.

That sounds hard. Everything comes in stages with liver disease. Always there is a lot to work with understanding whether or not we can improce and experience some relief. Good luck.
