I had a Fibroscan this afternoon and they said that the readings were as low as 2 but as high as being in the 70's

They now want to do another on Monday.

I am also having a cam pill on Monday.

Does anyone know why I should have that reading as they wont say.

The results sound very confusing. Obviously 2 is very low and 70 is high - I think they maybe want to recheck the accuracy of the results, because as far as I know they usually test about 10 areas of the liver and they like to get a much smaller variation in the results. Hi just had another scan and the reading is now 6,looks a lot better I think.

I'm not sure what the numbers mean but a lot better than in the 70's.

I googled my results. All I know is that my sister's was either 6 or 7 and she was told they do not worry at all about that. Mine was 27 - across all 10 readings, with very little variation. I have NASH as does my younger sister. I have since had an endoscopy and oesophageal varices found which were then banded - now I am back to sureveillance endoscopies after 3 endoscopies done two weekly .... and my fingers are crossed!!

A large man went before me and his took about 10 mins and was fine,when I went in they did the 10 areas and got those readings.

They then did it again using a different probe but still got the same readings.

She said that she has never known it before and said that I was to have it again on Monday morning and that someone else would be with her to do it as it was giving off erratic readings.
