Hi Debs

Sorry to hear about your fatty liver diagnosis. diet is one of my topics. To make a suggestion on this really do need to know your symptoms and what medication and your appetite level is like. But generally avoid highly processed, salty products, try and use as much fresh foods as possible, easy to say in our busy life.

. If your appetite is low thn try and eat small and often. I have several snacks throughout the day and try to have one main meal. As I said there is a lot of variances here and your body will demand different levels at different days.

But as mentioned on blog before, eat healthy but try not to be a calorie/intake counter and as long as your try and have a standard balance diet your should be fine. Again this depends on if there are any complications or other conditions and medications.

I have cirrhosis and when I was out of hospital I lost 3-4 stone. My diet was shot to pieces. I went through strange cravings for certain foods, at weird times, but with concentrating on simple things I now have a reasonable appetite, but still try and follow the basic rules. I do slip occasionally, doctor has told me to eat for England.

Hope it helps

Hi Debbie,

I would speak with your specialist about this; I am a diabetic an have the same problem when I have to have a procedure. I find they are very accommodating if they know in advance and will often alter the saline drip, you are likely to be on, to have sugar in it so that you do not have a hypo, they will also monitor your sugars for you during the procedure.

Kind regards

Sandy
