Last week was a tougher one on my plan - the intervals increased to 4x1K on Tuesday, and 3x1.6K on Thursday.... Tuesday run went quite well, tracker reported a PB for 5K of just under 33 minutes, Thursday was a lot harder partly because it was quite a warm day and I was running at the wrong time of it.... especially for the third interval I had to put some walks in. Easy 5K yesterday, and it really did feel easy at 35:30 - could have gone faster, or further quite comfortably!
Same again for this week - same interval runs - so let's see how it goes this time,,,,
Hi all I've been lurking around for a while here feeling a bit of a fraud. GRaduated C25k last summer (the same time as Irish-John ) and ran 5k for the first time in August on holiday in sunny Brittany. Since then it's been a fair bit of time on the injury couch (calf, hip, then ankle) but now finally seem to be in a routine of running (a very slow ) 5k three times a week where possible. This exhausts me and I can't imagine running more but then a year ago I couldn't imagine running 5k!
No reason to feel like a fraud. There are some great tips to be had on increasing distance on this forum. You'll be increasing your time before you know it 😀. Slowly and sensibly of course.
It took me ages to start increasing to 10k after finishing c25k. In fact I ran listening to week 9 of the podcasts for several months and have only now really mastered 10k after finishing c25k over 2 years ago. Plenty of time to do everything we want to do. I think managing 3x 5k a week is amazing, shows real commitment, and is something even seasoned runners don't always manage to do. So congrats are definitely in order
