I am very sorry to say this, but I can see there is a huge communication gap between you and your Oncologist.

Please sit with your Oncologist and request him to explain the following to you:

1. Stage of cancer

2. Treatment planned

3. Why the treatment planned in that manner

4. Tests to be done to assess the effectiveness of treatment

5. Possible outcome for her stage

6. Pros and cons of all treatment options

7. Changes in treatment options if she doesn't tolerate the first treatment

The list is endless.

And also please understand, that we at this forum, cannot answer these questions as it needs a detailed assessment of the patient and detailed review of reports and everything. When I do it for my patients, it takes me 20 to 30 minutes to just assess and understand the whole scene, try to understand that.

So please visit your Oncologist, who is the right person to answer your questions.

My post about dangerous advice was a response to KillCancer2016 who posted a blog about alternative approaches to treatment I found his advice to be dangerous. I don't know your particular situation. Chemo is usually given for a certain number of rounds, with the patient followed closely afterwards to try to insure that the cancer will not come back. It is important to work with your doctor to determine which treatment is best and how many treatments are needed. If you are not sure about the advice you are getting a consult with a second breast oncologist might be helpful. If both doctors agree about the treatment it can give you a great deal of peace of mind. If they don't, then discuss with each the reasons for their recommendations.
