There is no risk to children from you ,rather you have to be careful of not getting infection during chemotherapy .
Inidently My wife was also diagnosed for stage three breast caner in July 2014 and she has completed chemotherapy ,radiation and Herceptin course. She is seventy and has been able to go thru the whole treatment without adverse effort. .,
Dear psra
kindly share more of ur wife
'experience with me. I am really in need of it. That will inspire me.I am a stage 2 breast cancer patient had masectomy ,8 chemos, then undergoing Hertaz(Herceptin) 10 cycles over. I take treatment in Sankara cancer hospital in bangalore
Dear TUTUROSHAN
My wife has always been very positive person and does not easily gets perturbed. this attitude of hers has given us all great strength to face the trauma.During her chemotherapy and radiation she did not have any measure problem even during that period we have gone for shopping.
During chemotherapy and radiation we stayed with our son , but when herceptin remained to be administered we moved back to our place Dehradun and kick started our normal life socialising with friends.
I may also tell you after she lost her hair she grew back the best looking hair style, a golden lining.
so keep chin up and do mix socially and remain occupied.
I am sure you will be a very brave girl and come out with flying color. Wish you all the best and speedy recovery. With our blessings and best wishes
psra
Dear Mallika
stay positive.Read the story of Mrs Neeraja Malik She had inspired me. When i underwent chemo, i was so depressed i saw the youtube of madam Neeraja and consoled myself. Cancer is not deadly as before. There are lot of targeted therapies which increase the survival rate. Stay positive. Forget that u have the disease. Go ahead with what ur oncologist says. Keep urself healthy. Take lot of antioxidants, brocoli, green tea, carrot, beetroot, apple juice daily, garlic, turmeric pepper powder daily. these food modifications will help u to improve ur immune system. Dont worry about ur children God will take care.

Whats the reason you have chosen the title of your blog as BRCA1 ? ?
Hello Malika, I finished my chemotherapy in October 15 and radiation in january16. I think it's best that you stay around your kids like you normally would. It reduces anxiety in them and you both.i made my kids wash hands everytime they entered home, had them change their clothes right after they are back from school.
Of they have any signs of infection like fever or cough or runny nose or any gastro intestinal symptoms, just keep little distance and have them wash hands more often and cover the face if they coughing or sneezing.
Talk to them and prepare them about your treatment , ask them question " do you know what's going on or ask do you have any concern that you would like me to addres .
My kids were 9 and 8 at the time of my diagnosis
I hope this helps
Good luck, I am sure you will beat this thing before you even know😊
Love
