conceiving after treatment

what are the chances of conceiving after the treatment is over?if possible,what are the side effects on the child?thanks.

Chemotherapy has a very variable effect on the ovaries. More than 50% of women will never experience periods after treatment. The remaining will get their periods back within a few years. Once periods have resumed and are regular, there is definitely a chance of conceiving. There wont be any effects on the child as such. Sometimes, even if periods have not restarted, the ovaries might still be functioning. One can find this out by doing certain blood tests to see the hormone levels. You can discuss this with your oncologist
