Side effects of FEC

Hi ladies I am half way through six sessions of Fec, generally coping well, however one side effect is bothering me. I have developed what looks like boils in various parts of my vast, some are quite painful. Has anyone else experienced this? Not sure how to treat them do I just let them run their course? Any help welcomed.

Hi Anita-B - I had them running down the back of my head and neck. They looked awful. I had no hair and they stood out like mad. I washed them morning and night and put a dab of vicks on them all. They took about two weeks to clear, but they did go. I hope this helps. Lainey66 xx

PS... the alcohol wioes that nurses use to swab your arm before a jab are also excellent at clearing them up, or that alcohol cleaner that you get when you get your ears pierced.

I feel for you and wish you continued strength. Half way through chemo is not easy, it seems to go on forever but before you know it, it will be over. The spots sound horrible, all I can suggest is letting your health team know, so they can ensure they don't get any worse. I too found my skin struggled with chemo more than any other side effect. I was clinical about hygiene but my skin got very dry itchy and spotty. My team recommended aveeno which I found good and continue to use. Keep well, the other side of chemo is not too far away. Sometimes may need a bit of help like a course of antibiotics. Please talk to the heath team.
