Hi gp discovered 2 lumps in my left breast 2 weeks ago have breast clinic 17th Aug. Lump at 8 o'clock is significantly big and has dimpling creasing approx 2 inches .
It's like you can see lump in a photo
Also have a lump under my left arm and dull ache.

The waiting for appointments is always the worst bit. Keep phoning. I had a meltdown whilst waiting for one of my appointments, my husband phoned them and they found me a slot earlier. It is horrid, but I'm out the other side now and there are lots of folk on here who are too. Keep positive. Xx
Sorry to hear you have lumps, it is a worry for you and we have all been there, I found a lump went to GP refereed to hospital all took time, I was convinced it was cancer, it turned out not to be that one anyway, they found another lump that after biopsy was cancer, whatever happens to you just remember you will be able to deal with it, we all have on here, it isn't nice but all treatment is doable, I remember a friend saying that to me, and she was right.
Try to stay positive most lumps are not cancer! Statistics are on your side.
Talk to friends and family it does help.

Hi Cath. Your GP should be referring you along the two week urgent cancer pathway, these are national guidelines and you should ask why the delay unless you waited to see your GP and the referral is within two weeks of course.
My heart goes out to you, waiting is the hardest time and I wish you lots of luck. Many of us using this site have had the full works in terms of treatment and we are still here, still smiling, still living, still having fun so even if the worst happens remember you can get through it and we are all here to support you.

My gp referal took a week to go then when I phoned the breast clinic they told me it would be 3 to 4 weeks before in was seen ... not the 2 weeks xx

Catherine, I work in healthcare and this is a serious breach of national guidelines. My adviceis call the breast clinic and ask to speak to the nurse in charge, insist if you have to, and ask about why you are not on the two week referral pathway. If you don't have anyjoy contact the Director of Nursing at the hospital or commissioning group who will act on your behalf, trust me you should be seen within 2 weeks from referral by your GP.

Whilst I'm the shower this morning b when getting dried I've noticed a dentation at just 6 inches down from under my arm actually where your bra goes around ... if I pull the skin it disappears but still there its like stuck if you know what I mean to that part xx
Perhaps the GP could put in a word for them to see you sooner? Is the GP aware of the change? You are bound to be worried (all of us would) but try not to panic. Once you get seen, things can happen very quickly if they need to. I had results on a Friday and op the next Monday. Take care and good luck.

I really think you need to contact your GP for an urgent referral. The first sign I had was dimpling and after a really close self examination I found a hard flat area on the top of the breast. I always thought the first signs would be a round lump, but the signs aren't always that obvious. My initial tests showed I actually had 3 tumours. To this day I don't know where the third was. I was also told that the dimpling is caused by a lump in the breast pulling the tissue inwards which causes the dimple. I had surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and am now ok. If there are several hospitals in your area, take the one that has the quickest appointment. You can then transfer to the hospital of your choice. When my GP referred me I got a phone call offering an appointment at Solihull hospital the following week. I had the initial tests there but asked to be transferred to Good Hope as this is closer to where I live

Hi honey I live in Fife and am sure you should have appt sooner but glad your GP is on the case and you might get a cancellation if you/GP/husband keep pestering, but of course the guidelines are 'within two weeks'.

I had a terrible diagnosis 5 years ago with 4 tumours in one breast (one over 5cm) and 11 out of 12 lymph nodes. 5 cm no clear margins attached to chest wall. Given a 50/50 chance of surviving 5 years and today am completely cancer free. Had all the conventional treatments and adopted a healthy lifestyle with supplements. Don't be scared. Be inspired. Have faith that you will beat it and live an enjoyable life. After all, none of us know when our time is up.

Hi Cath, sorry you're joining us, but glad you have an appointment for this week.
From experience you can keep looking and finding things that look different on your breast but until the consultant or nurse looks at it and scans you you won't know anything for definite. I had a recall after routine mammogram and beat myself up for the week in between, as the letter was so vague... I examined myself constantly, both breasts and convinced myself it was in the other breast and not the actual one it was. It is scary and you are probably thinking the worst case scenario BUT if it is the worst then you've taken the first steps to Sorting it...
My advice is take someone with you on Weds if you can and take a book or iPad to keep you distracted you may have to wait as the breast units are usually very busy. You probably won't get results then and have to come back for them, think it varies depending on where you are...

That seems a long wait,can you ask for an appointment sooner,that's a long time to be worried and not know what's happening.There's no point in my saying don't worry because it's what you do,the fact that you've joined this group is testament to that but just listen to the support and advice from the lovely ladies on here.I hope your breast clinic appointment goes well and think positively.stay well,Vicky.x
Well done. It has been spotted so they can sort it out. They will do a mammogram and probably an ultrasound scan followed by biopsies from your breast and armpit.
When the results are back, they can tell you if it is cancer or not. Don't panic. The treatment is very good. Keep us updated x

The waiting is definitely the worst part of it all as you have no control over appointments, I spent a lot of time on the phone chasing appointments. Good luck for the 17th, it is a hard day and waiting for the results is harder
Sorry, just saw that you have an appointment for today. Hope it went well and you are not too bruised. This time last year I was starting out like many others here and am now out the other side following chemo, mastectomy and radio, I am 40. Year was not bad, met lots of lovely people and experienced great levels of kindness.
