I'm 50 years old, my husband noticed what he thought was a scar on my lower outside of my breast, that I didn't think twice about. I thought he was talking about my stretch marks. However 2 weeks ago he noticed a lg mass on that very spot, it was actually a 3" long indentation. Now my nipple is very inverted, with some pain now and then. My mammo and ultrasound came back abnormal and I'm seeing the surgeon next week for a biopsy. Has anyone had these or similar symptoms and it not come back as breast cancer?

Indentation
My mother is going through the same thing, and was diagnosed in May. The fold and the inverted nipple are both classic signs of breast cancer. For my mother the oncologist said that the tumor has been there for a couple years and she never noticed it. She did not get regular testing for anything because her primary physician didn't think it was necessary. Now, because of her advanced age, she is getting hormone therapy and it seems to be working to shrink the tumor - she says she can feel it being smaller and when I look at it, it seems smaller. We have to wait until mid-August when she goes back to the oncologist to confirm this; that will be her first 3-month visit. Hope everything turns out good for you!
Its good that you have an appointment with a clinician next week. He/she can give you proper advise about your symptoms. I hope its nothing sinister but whatever the outcome you are in the best place to move forwards. Good luck xx
