Watching HEAL on Netflix and thinking they are putting the blame on patients 🙄

One of my best friends, who obviously know I had/have breast cancer, told me to watch HEAL on Netflix.

I am honestly open to mind over body power and I am 100% aware of the the the placebo effect. One of my first activities post-treatment was attending a meditation course. I do understand the need for a more holistic view.

Still, I think this documentary is a little too much for me. They seem to be just dropping science words left to right and then dismissing science 🤷🏻‍♀️. One of the patients with liver cancer was also going through conventional treatment, but that was totally ignored. Made me think about what happened to Steve Jobs.

It also really bothers me that they are implying that all chronic diseases have a reason linking to the patient (stress, diet etc). Like we don’t have enough guilt to deal with...

Plus that part about excess ”heat/fire” in your system causing illness just gave me an intense eye roll 🙄

There are obviously some good parts, but I find it hard to get pass the issues.

Have you seen it?

Hi I haven’t seen this, but personally think it is not correct, there are loads of factors why our cells turn cancerous.

Think you can help yourself in a lot of ways to lesson your chances of cancer, diet stress etc. Which I have done since I was diagnosed, if it helps you mentally to think you are helping in a small way then that’s good.

But to totally go the diet stress way, with no medical help is wrong in my opinion.

Oh gosh. That is such a personal decision. You need to do what is right for you. I went the mastectomy, RT, and 5 (challenging) years of meds, route. I am alive to write this. A woman I totally respected and admired went the holistic health route and she passed away, her BC killed her. Who is right? Both of us - we chose what was right for us.
