A question for anyone who knows. Did tamoxifen make your hair thin a lot? I’m in the 2nd year of taking it and I’ve really lost a lot of hair.

I'd like to know as well. However, my hair has been thinning in the last few years prior to cancer which happened this year. I did not need chemo, I went straight to radio therapy. I've just started Tamoxifen (day 3) and this was a question on my mind. I'm 54 now (still premenstrual), so I'm taking the stance that I will deal with it if it happens.

I hope to follow the example of others where they've said it wasn't bad over the course of 5 years.

I have been on letrozole for 3 years, my hair is thinner, but my friends that are going through the menopause their hair has thinned as well, think basically it is the loss of estrogen that causes this type of thing, as well as making hair greyer and the vagina walls thin, which makes sex painful, oh the joys of getting old!

I've been taking Tamoxifen for just over a year and also noticed significant hair loss. It has slowed down a bit and there are some hair thickening products/shampoo that I've tried which helped. Viviscal is one that works well for me. The side effects of Tamoxifen can be daunting. Hang in there!!

Hi, I'm in my fourth year of Tamoxifen and my hair is now thicker and longer than it's ever been. In the beginning, after the chemo and radiotherapy it was very thin and weak. I was recommended to use an Argon oil based shampoo and conditioner to help
