Hi my lovely ladies, not posted for a while, still waiting for my Radiotherapy start date!....However I've been taking my Tamoxifen for 2 weeks now, feeling not to bad, but am getting a bit of a sore tummy, it's not really painful, but just don't feel myself, anyone else had this? It only started a few days ago, I'm going to ring my nurse tomorrow, she said ring her if there any problems, no scary replies my brain is on overdrive at the moment...just need you fab ladies to give me reassurance!! X

Yes definitely, I was on it for 4 years, I Tryed mornings, it didn't work for me, so stuck to nights... I'm on a little break from it at moment as they have recommended 10 years πŸ™„.. XπŸ™

Thanks for reply, I might start taking it at night, my Tamoxifen is for 5 years, so I can understand the break for a 10 year ragime x

Hi there, I'm on the tablet now for 6 years. I did start with a sore tummy but it passed eventually. The only side effects I do have are the hot flashes (Lucky at night) and weight gain but over managed to keep my diet healthy and seem to stay the same weight. My eyes sight is also terrible but nothing glasses can fix. As for the sex drive, well it went completely BUT I found a way to make it work and I'm alive and doing well. I'm sure you will be fine. Cancer does change us on so many ways but it's up to us to find new and other ways of getting by. Contact me on djcooote@gmail. com if you would like to chat again xx

Thank you so much ....I'm glad someone has responded with the tummy complaint like me, I was really panicking, I've only been taking it 2 weeks, and so far so good, but last few days my tummy has felt a bit sore and tender, I thought to myself the Tamoxifen can't do that much damage in 2 weeks !! I was taking Tamoxifen for 9 months before I couldn't stand the side effects i'm afraid. For me the flushes were intolerable having to change clothes /6 times a day. Tried Letrozol but no better and now am on Exemastane which is still rubbish for the bone pain and the awful flushes 24/7 but you know what, it's hopefully keeping the cancer away so I guess I was just a bit more delicate and the side effects got me!! You chat to your bcn and good luck with it all!

stay well,

Blue :-)

I was on tamoxifen for five years, I now on letrezole for five years. I always take mine in the morning. I find different brands effect me but cannot remember which. I am also on omeprazole so that helps my stomach. Like others my bones ache and I get well paranoid...I have bone scan every two years cause of side effects of letrezole... ! 😈😈

As others have said discuss everything with nurse or doctor don't keep it in and worry more, there is more for you to concentrate on. Good luck πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I am 8 years post diagnosis...
