Hi all, my mom who is almost 60 has been diagnosed with stage 1a invasive ductal carcinoma , had masectomy two weeks back in Tamilnadu,IN, recovering and stable. Prognosis shows 10/14 lymph nodes positive with three extracapsular extension. So. Doc asking us to go for chemo and radiation. We r scared thinking bout the side effects since she is not a very strong person physically ,but hasn't had any major health problems in past except an ectopic pregnancy and a surgery that too before 32 yrs.

Is there any better alternative method other than chemo!? With less side effects?

I recently read bout immunity therapy center, Tijuana mexico!

Has anyone been there !

Many thanks

Welcome, Peace, and Blessings, 201819. We are very sorry about your Mom's diagnosis, and we are glad she has you to watch out for her.

The recommendations for Chemotherapy and Radiation Treatment are absolutely necessary to give your Mom her best prospects for survival. As dreadful and uncomfortable as the treatments and their effects may be, the advance of cancer is much worse. The treatments will be tailored for her condition, taking into account any infirmities she has. For most people, the side effects can be managed and tolerable with the other medicines available to manage any foreseeable side effects of treatment.

Cancer does not care about anyone's immunocompetence. It has ways of tricking even perfectly good immune systems -- it tricks the immune system not only to ignore it, but to help promote its growth. The only way/s known to stop it is by conventional treatment.

If there were some easier effective "alternative" treatment for cancers, everybody would be doing it -- including all the Doctors and their loved ones who suffer from cancers. Please think about that.

Here on HealthUnlocked there is also the discussion group Breast Cancer India, with much participation by breast cancer patients in the Indus region. I believe they also have leads and tips on getting the cancer medicines more affordably, if that is an issue.

I will be back on here later with some suggestions for helping her get through the recommended treatments.

Sorry to hear about what your family/mom is encountering. I too am currently on round 9 out of 12 Chemo treatments. My prognosis was Triple negative Ductal Carcinoma (Invasive) Stage 3C. I am only 53 years of age & as all of us, shocked to learn this could be happening to me. Because the cancer has affected my lymph nodes (this is what was the game changer) it was imperative that I began treatment ASAP. In one month, my nodes went from my armpit to my collar bone area. Which also started to show cancer cells. Todays medicine offers so many improvements to "Breast Cancer' treatment & it's reduced side effects. I never have felt nauseous once out of 9 treatments. I'm not saying that there are NO side effects~there are plenty~however, it appears to be accumulative. (The more treatments, in time~the more side effects) My first four treatments were of the "Red Devil" which is one of the oldest Chemo tinctures known to medicine. I could go into further details about my experience, but if the cancer has moved into her lymph nodes (in my opinion) there is no other option but to follow Western Medicine. I grew up a naturalist! I can not wait to be off of pharmaceuticals.
