chemo Number 5 today and nervous ...

Morning everyone ...well today i am having chemo number 5 ...bummer just before Christmas ...the worst thing is, I usually have It first thing in the morning ... but the receptionist put this one down for this afternoon ...I don't know what to do about lunch ...do I have it before or wait till after ? ....need some positive vibes .....one more to go after this ....praying ill be ok xxxx

Hi I had my 5th one a couple of days ago too, was not as straight forward as previous getting cannula in took a few tries but like you I’ve only got one more to go so am feeling quite positive now. I would definitely have something to eat beforehand 😊hope all goes well and 2018 will be amazing for you!

Morning ..Donnanh ...I know the needle bit is the worse ...been ok with it up to now ...so glad your through it ...I can tell you I will be glad when tonight comes ...I don't sleep to well the night before ...I'm scared to eat during chemo ..xxx

I’m doing the cold cap too so trying to eat with that on is a bit of a challenge! Try and have something light though beforehand if you don’t want to eat during chemo, so you’re not sat being hungry! Hope today goes really well xx

Does it take a while for your chemo to complete Jackearls1000? I used to ‘pack for the day’ I’d have my book, laptop ... and .... wait for it ... my packed lunch 😂😂 Yep, I actually took a packed lunch with me as my days were long- until they put in a PIC line when my veins decided enough was enough - if you could have seen me you would laugh your head off. You would have sworn I was heading off for a day out 😂😂😂 I had my bottle of water, my lunch box with sandwiches In and another lunch box with a small but very tasty mixed salad in it. I actually enjoyed my lunches. I took a piece of fruit and also my treat to myself either a small chocolate bar or a packet of crisps. Mine always started mid morning and went on until mid afternoon or later. Some days I didn’t feel like eating and maybe nibbled on some of it and took it back home with me. It stopped me being hungry and, in all honesty, gave me something to take my mind off things. That’s how I managed. Morning Lainey I usually get started 10am ...and out by 1.30 ...so not too long ...I'm having the cool cap so that's what takes the time ...I'm scared to eat on chemo day till after xxx Merry Christmas to you too ...hope your well and happy xxx

Hi, you are doing so well I can’t believe you are on no. 5 already! Just think by tonight only 1 more to go! 😊. I used to eat before I went then if you were there over lunch they gave you a sandwich, yogurt and fruit or some soup. I didn’t always feel like it and actually felt a bit sick during my last one. Morning Lynne ,,,thanks for that...I'm afraid at this hospital, you don't even get a cup of tea ...there is a drinks machine and its £1.50 and its awful...you get 1 pack of biscuits for free ...it went ok ...but took ages to get it through my vein .....but actually apart from it hurting slightly it was ok ...I got home a 6 ....the cold cap was bloody freezing but I persevered ....ive lost 75 percent of my hair ..it is growing back but grey ..so its damage limitation ...I now love my wigs I have bought two lol ....at Slimming World I weigh over 100 ladies and no one has said anything except my hair looks lovely lol ...so now I have to maintain this standard ....restless night ...but ok this morning to make unicorn cookies and Santa cupcakes with my daughter, all set for the big day ...shopping being delivered this morning . cinema for Christmas eve and a Chinese buffet ..out for dinner Christmas day and cooking boxing day ....so all sorted ...how are you ??? thank you so much for all your support ..I cant believe I'm nearly through ...and I'm surviving ..I have even managed to maintain my 4 half stone weight loss from 2 years ago ...so I am really proud of myself ...lots of love to you and Happy Christmas to you and your family ....wishing you a particular a Healthy and Happy New Year xxxxx

Hi, I’m glad its done now, you only have one more to go! I really struggled with my last one, it took ages to get the cannula in and I felt sick during it too, I don’t know if part of it was relief that it was the last one! I’m fine thanks, now back at work full time and just waiting for a date for reconstruction now and my first mammogram on my right side! Have you got a date for your last treatment? Just try and relax and enjoy xmas and let’s hope for a better 2018! Love Lynne, xxx
