After being cancer free for seven years ,tamoxifen for five years and letrazole for the last two Ive been happily living my beautiful life , apart from a few side effects aches and pains , hot flushes and hair thinning , I have been having pain in my hips very painful at night , so a quick trip to the doctor for an X-ray , putting the thought of secondary cancer in my bones to tha back of my mind , I was delighted to discover it is arthritis , I could of kissed my doctor and he could see how happy I was , he reassured me there was no cancer and no bone thinning from the letrazole X I may need a new hip in the future but I don't find that a problem , just so happy I'm still ok x x love and hugs to you all πŸ’•

Brilliant news, can I ask what surgery you had for your cancer, I had lumpectomies in 2013, I'm on tamoxifen due for a review next year, trying not to think too much about it yet, but it does cross my mind at times, will I be told tablets are finished or will I be changed to a different one, I wish you a long happy cancer free life xxx

Hi Jennymary , thank you for your reply X yes I had a lumpectomy 3 lumps removed , 22 lymph nodes 5 had cancer in , 3 Fec and 3 Doxitaxal then radiotherapy for 5 weeks also a year of herceptan , it's a long slog as you well know X they put me on letrazole after 5 years as I had gone through the change X if your younger they may keep you on Tamoxofen for the whole 10 years X it's hard not to worry but a positive outlook has worked for me X wishing you a healthy long cancer free life too πŸ’•πŸ’•
