Have dry cough since Jan now a lot worse. Now have loud wheeze. Have been referred to fast track respiratory clinic after visit to A&E. Words like fibrosis have tossed about just feeling anxious and wondering if anyone else has been through this too

You meant 2015😊! And you're worried about your lungs following the treatment you received for the breast cancer? I would imagine you would have had problems earlier than January if the two were connected. I know that there is a flu that lingers for a very long time and people have a deep cough. I presume that the doctor who saw you in A&E listened to your chest.

Don't worry as you'll be seen by the right specialists and worrying about it might make you feel worse.

Be positive. Hope you'll be given encouraging news.

Under fibrosis, I found the following which includes problems following radiotherapy for breast cancer and I would like to draw your attention to the last sentence!

"By Lynne Eldridge, MD, Lung Cancer Expert

Updated January 25, 2016.

Radiation pneumonitis is an inflammation of the lungs due to radiation therapy. This side effect of radiation therapy occurs in roughly a fourth of people who go through radiation therapy for lung cancer, but can also result from radiation to the chest for breast cancer, lymphomas, or other cancers.

Symptoms most commonly occur between 1 and 6 months after completing radiation therapy.  With treatment, most people recover without any lasting effects."

Radiotherapy pneumonitis was something I thought of too but was told chest xray clear. Was given a week of steriods. I thought that helped but my husband said I was just as bad.
