Hi I have just finished my five years on extemestane (aramosin) and I feel really unwell as in nauseous and loose stools and was wondering has anyone else felt like this and does anyone know if this is normal and how long it last ..
Finishing treatment : Hi I have just... - My Breast Cancer ...
Finishing treatment
Can you ask your oncologist? Are those side effects mentioned in the leaflet that comes with the medicine?
It could be that your body is reacting to having to cope living without meds. The loose stools could be your body getting.g rid of excess chemicals. But go to your GP just so that your mind can be put at ease. Well done on getting through your battles. Now enjoy everything life offers you xx
My gp and breast nurse were not sure .but just reading other people's comments has reassured me .could be a bit of anxiety as now there is no more appointments and maybe feeling a bit vulnerable. Thank you for your reply
Hi hope you're feeling better if you're worried contact your GP or BC nurse I remember some nausea around the time I finished my 5 years on aromasin but had other stuff going on so put it down to that . it did pass after a few weeks xx
Thank you for your reply .I feel better juse talking to someone about symptoms
Have they put you on tamoxifen?? Xx
No I couldn't have Tamoxifen due to brain surgery for an aneursym and the risks of a stroke so I was put on Aramosin all finished now thank god ...
Good grief !! Youve been through it havent you ? Were you taking anything else I had alendronic acid and adcal for my bones while was on aromasin Stay strong hun here for you if u need a chat xx
I had Ad cal for my bones .I now have OA And RA .my son always says it happened to you mum so other people that are ill can get strength from you .I have been very lucky with the support I have around me .and I'm quite a happy go lucky person .plus I don't like losing lol thank you for your kind words
Good for you we're the lucky ones we're survivors every day is a bonus isn't it when you first get that diagnosis you think the worst but we are beating it!!! And will keep on beating it Stay strong stay well xxx
Are you still taking adcal ? I stopped taking it as i seemed to get aches and pains in my fingers and feet
Being honest I never really took it for the last two years it made me nauseous and I tried to get my calcium through my diet .I had my Dexta scan in December and the change was minimal so I told gp not to prescribe me any more and he agreed x
I never really took it either I did it through diet too and my dexa scans have stayed stable too although I did break my wrist shopping in Manchester last year lol it was my first fracture they kept me in hospital there due to have op to put plate in next day but was bumped down list so discharged myself and came home to Stoke to get it sorted it's healed very well without op for plate just 10 weeks in plaster. I,m more afraidof falling and breaking something else than the cancer coming back 😊 .
I am as well my knee is always giving way and they say I need a knee replacement but im not having it yet I need a break (excuse the pun )from surgery .it's a nightmare lol x
Haha think my knees on way out too there's no end to our aches and pains !!! Should have been a man lol I'm off out dancing to a wedding tonight hope knees hold out!!! Anytime you want a chat or a moan am here xxx
