Hi I have just finished my five years on extemestane (aramosin) and I feel really unwell as in nauseous and loose stools and was wondering has anyone else felt like this and does anyone know if this is normal and how long it last ..

Can you ask your oncologist? Are those side effects mentioned in the leaflet that comes with the medicine?

Loads of side effects and I think I had them all .the sweating was by far the worst .nothing on leaflet re symptoms after you stop them .thank you for your help ..

It could be that your body is reacting to having to cope living without meds. The loose stools could be your body getting.g rid of excess chemicals. But go to your GP just so that your mind can be put at ease. Well done on getting through your battles. Now enjoy everything life offers you xx

My gp and breast nurse were not sure .but just reading other people's comments has reassured me .could be a bit of anxiety as now there is no more appointments and maybe feeling a bit vulnerable. Thank you for your reply

I thought the same as the nausea is very much like pregnancy nausea and as I was having med to block estrogen it could be that .thank you for you help

Being honest I never really took it for the last two years it made me nauseous and I tried to get my calcium through my diet .I had my Dexta scan in December and the change was minimal so I told gp not to prescribe me any more and he agreed x

I never really took it either I did it through diet too and my dexa scans have stayed stable too although I did break my wrist shopping in Manchester last year lol it was my first fracture they kept me in hospital there due to have op to put plate in next day but was bumped down list so discharged myself and came home to Stoke to get it sorted it's healed very well without op for plate just 10 weeks in plaster. I,m more afraidof falling and breaking something else than the cancer coming back 😊 .
