Neuralgia or not?

I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia a while ago and then started on Tegretol. The pain hasn't improved. I'm worried because I have a history of drinking even though I was doing it moderately up until 3 years ago, I drank very heavy 10 years ago but stopped before I started doing it sensibly . I'm worried this could be wet brain. Aswell as pain I've got a lazy eye and tinnitus since this all started. Please if anyone has knowledge of this condition could you tell me if I've got reason to worry. Many thanks.
