Stomach pains

Hi guys I'm 14 weeks pregnant (first time) and I have a pain in my lower stomach just above my hip bone, it almost feels like a bruise but there is no mark and I don't recall having a knock on anything. It doesn't get worse with pressure, anything I should be worried about or anyone had similar pains?

Assuming you've had your dating scan and know that the pregnancy is ok and no cysts have been seen on your ovaries, it's quite likely to just be "stretching pains" as your uterus is having to take up considerably more room down there as baby grows. If it persists or gets considerably worse call you midwife for advice.

Hi there

Cramps and pains are quite common in pregnancy. If it becomes unmanageable, or you feel very unwell contact your GP and midwife as soon as you can. Always better to get niggles checked out.

Best wishes

Katherine
