Don't know what to do

Me and my girlfriend had protected sex a week ago. I did not ejaculate. Her period is now 2 days late. Is this normal to happen? If not, what should we do?

Hi there

Do you mean you had protected sex because you were using a condom? If so then your girlfriends period might just be late due to stress or worry rather than pregnancy.

If by protected sex you mean you used withdrawal then I would suggest taking a test because even if no ejaculation happens it relies on the male being very controlled, and not having any ejaculate in his urethra from earlier. You can buy tests from pharmacies, supermarkets and even pound shops. Or alternatively you could get a test for free from your GP or local contraceptive and sexual health clinic (you can find your nearest one here fpa.org.uk/find-a-clinic ).

I hope this helps

Best wishes

Katherine
