hi

I have 2 questions,I had my period from 26th January to 28th,i had unprotected sex on the 1st and 2nd of February,i saw my period from 20th Feb to 23rd.is it possible for me to get pregnant in March as a result of this intercourse.am confused cos i had a normal 3days flow in Feb after the sex this was few days to my ovulation.i would like to know if the intercourse in Feb can cause me to miss my period in March even though

i saw my period in Feb.please kindly explain to me.

question 2:i had sex this month after my ovulation,am supposed to see my period but i notice blood spotting instead of normal period.i took a pregnancy test but its faintly positive.

I would like to know if this pregnancy (incase i am)is from the sex i had in February or the sex i had this month of March.i saw my period well in Feb but not yet this month

thank you

Hi there

I hope you are not too confused. It sounds like you are more likely to have got pregnant from the sex that you had in February. If a period is lighter, shorter or missed completely we advise that women take a pregnancy test as this can be a sign of pregnancy. I would suggest going to your GP or local contraceptive and sexual health clinic and taking a test with them because that way you can talk through your results with them and you will be able to talk through all these dates with them.

You can find your local clinic here: fpa.org.uk/find-a-clinic

I hope this helps

Best wishes

Katherine

hi

thanks for the response but my period was not lighter, shorter or missed in the month of february. It was heavy infact and it lasted for the normal days i used to have it thats why i am confused.i wanted to take a test then but did not bother since i saw it and it was a normal flow.in march i had sex from the 4th till i missed my period on the 17th (few days ago)thats why i want to be sure if this pregnancy is from febuary or march.

thank you

Hi there,

It sounds like you probably conceieved in March, although there was a few days in Feb 25th-28th when you could have fallen pregnant, so after your period but before March.

The Clear Blue pregnancy tests can give tell you when you conceived (1-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks or 3+ weeks ago) and are around 82% accurate, so you might want to try that option. However, it really would be when you get scanned that you would get a certain idea of the date. The best thing to do would be to go and speak to a healthcare professional face-to-face to work out dates and discuss your options.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Katherine
