ihave had osterporosis for many years. when my husband passed away 15years ago i decided to have a private healthcheck.this checked picked up my condition. over the years i have taken alecdronic acid which was stopped after 7 years for a tablet break. these tablets caused me to have mouthulcers which were very painful they also caused me to dribble. over the years the bottom of my back was giving me a lot of pain. i put my healthcare to one side as i took oyer caring for my sister who had downs syndrome she later had demetia and passed away at 60. i then decided to start to look after myself and find some help with my problems. after back and fro the doctors i was sent for x rays for my osteporosis these took 6 months for the results. when i eventually had a chat to the doctor about the results i was told my condition was worse in my hip,she referred me to a bone clinic. after waiting for an appoint i was reffered to treatment for the elderly a name i didn,t like although i am seventy eight.i didn,t know what my appointment was for thinking it could be a meeting with older people having a chat. i was really pleased to meet a young lady doctor and a senior doctorsingh. they explained my condition to me so as i could understand it. they sent me for xrays put me on a high dosage of vitamine d and i am to take this for 6 days then have a blood test and report back to doctor sing. at last someone is helping me.hopefully i will have treatment to help control this condition. all i can say is thank you to doctor singh and his assistant for helping me understand.i am really looking forward to whatever is next in helping this condition to level out and not get worse. here.s to living longer.

wow. First, congratulations for your strength and kindness to your sister.

And secondly - are you saying it took 15 years before a dr tested your vitamin D level?

You were given medication without testing your D levels?

You have waited all this time before someone took the time to talk to you properly?

You have saintly levels of charity, but sometimes I want to reach for a machine gun when I read this kind of experience.
