Hello I am 19 yr girl and currently suffering alot because of my height. Actually I'm just 4'11 and I'm very conscious about my outer look and i know that once growth hormone stopped their is no way to restart it but I feel like I still have some potential to grow further, so if anyone know more about this or can suggest me something so it'll be really helpful cause I can't live with this height..

hi

I don’t know if you can increase your height at your age it depends whether your growth plates have closed. I just want to say I am 5 foot tall and aged 71. My life has been fine at this height and it has not stopped me doing anything I wanted to do,

If I could have chosen yes I would have chosen to be taller but life has been good at this height. I am married with children and grandchildren and had a good job before I retired.

Sorry this is all about me but I just wanted to say even if you stay this height you will be fine too.

io am a man and also short and it has its issues but the treatment available to increase your height are limited, difficult and will not make you substantially taller.

I am also a psychologist and BEFORE you look to intervene in your body artificially I would deal with your depression.

In my experience (35 years) body issues are not the cause of depression but a symptom of it with very few exceptions where there are pain and other factors.

Investment in some good psychological therapy and then decide if your height is as much of an issue

I DO know how upsetting and difficult being very short can be and often alters the way people initially treat you - I’ve been there but it gets better the older you get and being yourself is always better - if a struggle / than altering to fit in.

I wish you all the best and warmest thoughts

Okay i will try to convince myself to accept the way i am, and if it doesn't work then I'll look for some therapy. Btw thanks for the advice.

I once thought I read you can have a growth spurt up to the age of 26 but couldn’t find that reference. Most articles say 18. But there’s lots you can do to appear taller and it’s all to do with posture. Yoga, pilates, ballet, good nutrition, etc Read this: medicalnewstoday.com/articl...

I don't know of anything to increase height. You could look into yoga or pilates to make sure your posture is as good as possible to give you an appearance of being taller. But I will tell you that 2 of the most beautiful women I know are under 5 feet. They've never had a lack of dates or anything else stopping them in life. .
