hip Osteoarthritis and subchondral sclerosis

I have been diagnosed with left hip Osteoarthritis with mild degenerative change in the left hip joint with some subchondral sclerosis in the superior aspect of the acetabulum

I would like to know if we can have hip Osteoarthritis without having subchondral sclerosis

I would like to know if they are two different medical conditions.

I would like to know if the fact that I have subchondral sclerosis makes my hip Osteoarthritis worse

Hi Grandlover1,

We noticed you didn’t get any responses so far so we thought we’d drop by. Just to let you know this community focuses on osteoporosis and bone health so for support for your osteoarthritis we recommend having a look at the ‘versus arthritis’ website: versusarthritis.org/

There are also other communities here on Health Unlocked that focus on arthritis such as arthritis action: healthunlocked.com/arthriti...

We hope this helps.

All the best,
