A friend just told me about NMN. I looked it up and found this nmn.com/news/nmn-restores-s... and I’m curious if anyone is taking it to try to improve bone density.

Is anyone taking NMN to help bones?
Thanks for sharing this. Very interested in learning more about it, esp. where to get it, cost, side effects, long term use impact on health, dosage, etc. If you find any of this, please share. In other articles I just read, it appears longevity researchers and celebrities are already using it on themselves.
Yes, thanks for sharing this topic, I really didn’t know anything about it. I dug around on the internet and found this article that helped me understand it better.
I hadn’t heard of this before. Sounds promising. Thanks for sharing! I’ll have to ask my new endocrinologist when I see her for the first time in a few months to see what she thinks.
Would love to hear what your endocrinologist thinks. I need to get a new primary care physician—last one stopped taking my insurance so it might be a while before I can get in to see a doctor and ask about NMN.
On my 2022 and 2023 BTMs labs, my osteocalcin levels were at the very bottom of the normal range. My A1C in Oct 2022 was 5.6 and in Dec 2023 it was 5.7, which technically is pre-diabetes. In addition to osteoporosis, I have hypothyroidism, and in my research, I’ve learned that hypothyroidism can lower osteocalcin, that ppl with hypothyroidism have a greater risk of developing diabetes, and that somehow, lower osteocalcin levels are linked to type II diabetes. From what I’ve read, it sounds like NMN might be able to help me on several fronts. Unfortunately, it’s a bit pricey, but if it can help, it would be worth it.
How pricey and where can one buy it?
This link getwonderfeel.com/?utm_sour... is in the article posted above by fmkkm and that product is $88 for a one month supple (60 pills) or $73 if you set up a monthly subscription.
yes, pricey, esp for something without a lot of proven research of whether it works and long term consequences. Also, It appears some of the research is done by the company that makes the pills, which is something to consider. Hopefully research will provide more insight.
I’ve been contemplating getting another pricey item, a Marodyne LiV, for a while. It costs around $3000. If I knew it would work, I’d already own it. My bones aren’t getting any worse at the moment but I’m not seeing any impressive gains either. If the OsteoBoost Belt ever gets to market, I’ll go that route, but that was supposed to be available 1.5 years ago and there is still no definitive as to when it will be on the market.
I keep reading interesting new research from all over the world about new drugs for osteoporosis and waiting for something that doesn't cause the harm that the current drugs do. seems like it's taking forever to do so and I've had osteoporosis for 11 years. It's really disappointing.
Interesting. Too bad it IS so expensive...
