REMS results

Well I had an appointment with Mr Nick Birch this last Monday. What a very nice person he is, so knowledgeable and I am blown away by my results. I took all the DEXA scans for the last 14 years. Not each Yr I hasten to add. He looked at them all and told us why they weren't accurate. Won't go into that. The scan followed and the results took my breath away. I have osteopaenia not osteoporosis! I do have arthritis in my lumbar vertebrae and scoliosis which is not too severe. Both these skew the DEXA results. My fragility score is 13% which I can improve with exercises he suggested. I've been going round with a huge smile on my face since then. All I can say is thank you to those of you that recommended him. Worth every penny it cost.

I had another REMS appointment today with Nick. This was my second one so we could compare. I too am blown away by my results and how well I have done in the two years. Worth every penny as you say. I am not on any medication and have scoliosis . That is why DEXA scans were useless as they could not give me a spinal report. Nick can though. I was also happy that in the two years I have stayed the same weight and have not lost any more height. I have lost 5 inches in height over the years.

I am going back in 2 years and hope my results are as good as yours 😀 it's so reassuring to see someone you can really trust.

Totally agree. He appears to really care about us. I shall be back again in 2 years too. 👍

I had my first appointment with Nick last week - I too was blown away with the results & was told my osteoporosis is mild not severe as I have been told for the past 3 years via Dexa scans . I will make yearly appointments with him from now on .

I have just made my second appointment with Nick as I was so encouraged by my first appointment at the start of this year. He completely transformed how I feel about my osteoporosis; I had previously felt I was on a downward spiral, which could only be contained by medication, and would probably end up in a wheelchair, and now I feel that I can confidently go about my life. Yes I need to get plenty of exercise and take supplements, but I am nowhere near the disastrous scenario that my GP painted. I would absolutely recommend a visit to Nick to anyone with osteoporosis or osteopaenia.

Know exactly what you mean about a downward spiral. But my mind set is completely changed after Monday 👏👏

Do you have to go to Daventry to see Dr Birch or does he do the mobile clinics as well?

I did go to Braunston NR Daventry as it's nearest to me. But he does have mobile clinics. Check out the websiteosteoscanuk.com

All the info is there and a phone number if you want to ask any questions.
