Palpable lumps

Hi everyone!

I’ve been tossed around between doctors for around a year now because they can’t figure out what’s wrong with me.

I want to talk to people not doctors right now, I discovered i had a big mass in my knee a while back and ignored it till my leg started to hurt.

Doctors said it was locally invasive and needed surgery do they sent me to MRI.

My MRI came back fine so they started diagnosing me with different things like RA.

Keep in mind I have had a displaced kneecap since October and doctors haven’t done anything or told me why I randomly had that happen.

I think my kneecap has been pushed out of place because of the mass.

Yesterday I realized I have a new mass next to it and a new one in my back.

Any thoughts ? Or experiences similar to mine?

Hi Sabas, I’m not sure what this is but is it a calcification? Do you take high levels of vitamin d? I cannot think of anything else, sorry.

Yeah my Ultrasound and MRI showed no calcification present, it’s a mystery i guess

Oh dear, Sabas, it sounds like you're having a horrible time. I don't know whether anyone in this group will be able to help you, as the group is specifically for people with osteoporosis (bone thinning, causing them to fracture more easily). You mention RA so I wonder whether you'd get more help from joining an arthritis group.

I've had lumpy lymph glands which have popped up in different parts of my body but it doesn't sound like that as they generally form along lines going up and down your arms and legs groin and armpits. It could be anything by the sounds of it they haven't investigated it properly. My mom used to get ganglion cysts which I've got one on my finger joint. That's only at a joint though ..its where the synovial fluid makes a kind of punch outside where its supposed to be and that fills with fluid. My friend has a bone flint in her knee from an accident and they haven't done anything for her either... Occasionally the bone shard will burst her synovial joint and her whole knee swells up and for most of the time she can't use it. A friend of mine has lumps from an accident on her hand too which are collgenen lumps. So basically a lot of things can form lumps. Lymph ducts being blocked collegen building up ships of bone with swelling around it and ganglion's ...there are I am sure other things like tumours and parasites and goodness knows what else it might be. But if you're knee is displaced then it needs to be fixed! And to fix it you need to know what it is. Have they done a biopsy? You might want to rule out a tumour first. If not a phsyio therapist can diagnose some things as they have very good anatomy awareness. And doctors aren't always bothered since most of these things can't kill you and will go away on their own. I'd take a little notebook and write about it. Are they hard or soft. Do they move around under the skin or are they attached. Are they roundy or asymmetrical. Smooth or rough. Do they appear and disappear ..do they swell up and shrink down. Does the area around them have oain itching etc. Is it sore when you move one way but not the other. Any sounds or sensations around it? And then I'd go to a physiotherapist ..maybe all it is is some fluid build up that needs massage ..I got rid of my lumpy lymphs (say that five times without laughing!) And reduced the ganglion on my finger to where it doesn't either me unless the dog pulls the dog lead and busts it again. My mom got rid of her huge ganglion too. And mostly for me it has been massage and lots of water and taking good care of it. But I would say go to a phsyio if she hasn't a clue maybe try someone ...like a Chinese traditional doctor they're very good... Be careful not to let anyone try to " burst" it ... That's not good ..the old way of treating ganglion was to hit you on it with a bible and that's not a good cure. If someone seems to know their stuff and can tell you what they think is going on and you trust them then go with their advice but if you're not sure or it doesn't make sense to you don't let someone sell you some bumbo jumbo. But a lot of things doctors aren't bothered about and if you're not dying they've got patients who are to take care of. Lumpy bits unless they're cancer they don't really care about.
