I need your help

I had both ovaries & tubes removed December 2017 due to large cysts of irregular shape & the possibility of them turning cancerous.

I had a delta scan 20 months ago & it came back as excellent. I developed a frozen shoulder January 2018 & had 2 steroid injections the second one left me in agony. My back went into spasm. After an mri scan I was told I have a T9 fracture. Delta scan showed I slid at speed into osteoporosis reading!

My Doctor was shocked, she actually said to me ‘we got you it all so wrong’.

I have tried two of the tablets and was ill for 6 weeks, Doc now says I need to start having the injections ASAP.

After looking at some of the comments below I feel full of fear. I am already in constant pain and have been for many years.

Apologies for my long tale, I am desperate for answers.

•Where you in pain before you started the injections?

•Have you suffered with any jaw issues?

•Is there a natural answer to restoring our bones?

•I am 50 & started going through the menopause in my 30s but my doctors wouldn’t believe me.

•Does anyone else suffer with memory issues after the menopause & if so what do you do to help yourself?

Huge thanks in advance.

Xxxx

Foxy07, so sorry to hear your health issues. When the immune system is down, anything can evolve in a negative way and I feel consulting with a naturopathic doctor will help put you on the right track - not your family doctor. In the meantime, exercise such as walking (in a shopping mall if it's too cold out of doors) will be so beneficial, as well as being busy at home by avoiding the sofa because that invites more pain. Your energy will start to pick up and this could lead to better memory, also. Good things, as you probably realize, take time and I wish you heaps of good luck towards improved, fearless health. xxx

Take your time to read and research and think before doing anything “as soon as possible”. The advice above is good. Look at the negatives of these drugs before going that route. Remember; weigh the harm vs any good and then decide. There are most certainly natural ways to increase bone density without the harm that these drugs can do. I’m happily going the natural route myself. Consider that the drugs, and the scans, are still very controversial. You need to chose a route that you feel comfortable with. As evidenced here, your doctor will know nothing at all about these drugs or the scans except what the pharmaceutical companies tell them; and big pharma’s data on this is NOT shared for independent reviews either. You have a right to be cautious. Many people, including myself, have posted articles that are worth reading regarding the controversies about these scans and the drugs, and also have posted about proven natural approaches. Search them out. Take time to think. No one should be rushing you into anything.

Thank you so much, I have been in so much pain for years and have gone from being super fit & happy to bring low & unfit and hardly able to walk. I do always press on walk everyday sometimes with just more pain & other days with a smile. I would love to read your other posts, what would I search under? Thanks x

Click on my user name icon to see some of the posts. And there are other posts that I did which were replies to other users. I’m not sure how to find those.

To get you started on the natural route: Google AlgaeCal ( a natural plant based supplement that has had good reviews and proven results). And if you want to do your own, and not buy supplements, try stinging nettle leaf, and oatstraw . You can buy these dried herbs in bulk online from either Mountain Rose Herbs, or from Botanic Universe. You can make your own infusions with them, one cup of dried herb to 1 quart boiling water ( I use a mason jar). Steep overnight, strain, refrigerate. One cup will give you about 900 mg of calcium, including vit A, and magnesium, as well as other excellent minerals and vitamins. Plant based calcium is better absorbed by your body than the rock based calcium found in the usual supplements. You need the magnesium for your body to properly absorb calcium too. There are legit studies showing plant based calcium is more effective.( I buy these in large amounts, enough to last me a year, and make my herbal infusions every few days).

Then you may want to start building bone with exercise. You can google you tube videos of yoga for osteoporosis . You can start as easy and gentle as you like. Start slow. (I posted somewhere on this board, study results that showed yoga was effective in building bone. ) You could also buy a ‘stepper’ machine. They are small and compact and are exercise that simulate walking upstairs ( also effective in building bone). There’s lots you can do once you start to search for it.

Don’t let them scare you. These days, the only solutions doctors seem to have are drug pushing, and they totally overlook effective, safe, natural approaches to building a stronger, healthier body. There is no rush. You’ll be ok. Take your time to think and work out what feels right for you.

You have to make up your own mind about those drugs of course, but for me; the harm far outweighed the good. The drugs make bones brittle and stop their ability to remodel . Scary stuff. For me, it just feels better feeding my body with the natural, healthy vitamins and minerals I need, and exercising to build bone.
