I have stopped the Risedronate now and hoping that the aches and pains lessen, it was becoming quite severe. I asked my doctor would it be a problem and she decided a "holiday" off the drug would be OK.

Your symptoms sound a lot like polymyalgia rheumatica (whether your inflammation markers were high or not, they can even be normal). So if the pain doesn't go away after a time now that you have withdrawn from the drug it's worth further investigation. But hopefully things will improve for you. Best wishes.

Thank you so much, my doctor did blood tests for inflamation and they were slightly raised so I think she discounted polymyalgia and that is when I discussed coming off the Risedronate. I'll see how it goes and bring it up with her again if things don't improve.
