I have been on attenolol 25mg for 20 years. Gp now changed medication to amlodipine 5mg. Reason heart beat 40 to 45. However i train fairly intensively 3 or 4 times a week. Is it dangerous to suddenly cut off attenolol.

Hi Harry. I found the below link on Atenolol - No 4 in particular should be read. Also, you could check with your pharmacist before stopping - he/she would be able to give you advice on that too. Good luck. x

Thanks for that. I hadnotbeen to theGp for years. So when i went and my bp was taken it was 169/80. This combined with my low Pulse prompted action by the gp. My normal bp at home is 142/74. Plus i do train quite intensively. I am age 74. I will def take your advice ref the phamasist. Going for a 30 minutes on the rowing machine. Thanks.
Hello Harry - just to say I concur with what springcross has said. Pharmacists are often more clued up on medications and their side effects than GPs
