We are in the new forest in Hampshire... oh yes we have been in the pond today ππ
Beautiful part of the country ! My absolute best childhood memory ( 60 years ago ) was spending holidays with my parents friends/ex neighbours who moved from the north west to a tiny village, Glebe Field , near Alton It was like stepping into a new world for an 8/9 year old from a two up two down up north .I spent my days wandering around the woods for hours on end just across the lane , ( wouldnβt be advisable these daysπ’) visiting the farm where uncle Sid helped out , I walked the cows back to the farm from the fields in the evenings and helped milk them early in the day and I made a great friend in a horse who ran across his field every morning to greet me . ( I miss him to this day ) It was the first time I ever saw a slug or things flying around the bedroom during the night ! I often think about Glebe Field which as far as I can remember was 12 houses , a pub and a tiny bakers shop , I imagined it would be long gone but Iβve just googled it and itβs still there ! Itβs classed as βA small hamlet, remote dwellingβ it actually made me cry to read that as I think those times (along with my lovely dad who had a passion for long walks in the fresh air ) gave me my lifelong love of nature and wildlife . I still live in the NW but Iβm fortunate now to have a garden full of wild flowers and wildlife with a view of the surrounding moors π
Such lovely memories for you to have and for us to read about. I lived in a small hamlet for some years and sold it 20 years ago but for some reason itβs always there in my mind as if we left last week. π
Truly wonderful memories. I had a lovely childhood with holidays every year in N Wales , the Lake District etc when I remember mum buying lovely colourful tin buckets and spades and beach balls or enjoying exciting boat trips around Windermere in big , old wooden boats but those times at Glebe Fields, getting so close to all manner of flora and fauna and making new friends , not with other children but with big eyed cows and horses were just magical , like entering into a completely different world Youβre right some things never leave you they re imprinted on your soul π
I lived on a farm in an isolated part of Scotland for a while when 9 and my best friends were a herd of cows lol. I adored them and lots of farm cats. I still remember the smell of the cows π

Was a bit poorly after my flu jab. Lots of pain in my joints Now have a cough but otherwise ok thanks x hope you are well. X
Surviving if a bit tired very busy at the moment turning people away daily so sad to lose business but enough is enough π

I'm absolutely fine I'm doing pet sits in my customers homes at the moment... I have only been home 3 nights this month ...I dont sleep great always conscious of being in a different place and I miss the old man Stanley π𧑠though I see him every day it's not the same thing... but at home tonight already in bed and his lordship is under his blanket bang smack in the middle of a super king bed fast asleep β€β€
