Another scan

Hello

I had a CT scan 13 days ago on my lungs, I received a letter asking me to go for an ultrasound scan of my neck next Tuesday, I have not been told any results of the CT scan, any ideas?

You usually have to request a copy of the CT scan results while at the hospital, but as you are already going for an ultrasound scan on your neck, I wonder if its likely you will get a follow up appointment with the consultant in person or on the telephone.

I am thinking the consultant wants to get an overall picture with CT and ultrasound before he discusses with you.

You can also phone the consultants secretary and ask for a copy of the results of both scans if you want to wait in the mean time.

This happened to me a couple of years ago. I worried myself sick.It turned out that they had spotted arthritic changes in my neck ( common as we age?) they just clarified that. Nothing was done about it and I dont get many symptoms from it.

Ask for the results of your scan. As regards the ultrasound, I’ve just been through the same thing. Had a cat scan of lungs and asked to have ultrasound as they found a nodule in thyroid. Usually routine. Hope everything goes well 🐞
