Hi everyone, I posted on here a while back when I was ill with severe pneumonia. I was hospitalised for a few days. Drs said they’d never seen a pneumonia showing as severe on a ct scan as they had with me. Anyway, I’m much better now. Tiredness is subsiding. However the past couple of weeks I’ve been getting an increased amount of discomfort in the side where I had the pneumonia, specifically around where I had a drain put in to clear pleural effusion. I’ve also started to feel that crackly/bubbly sensation when breathing in and out deeply, which is the same feeling I had after the drain was carried out. I spoke to the gp when this started and he sent me for a chest X-ray. I’ve been told the results were clear but I’m waiting for another telephone appointment with the dr. I’m quite a worrier, so posting here to see if anyone else has had similar experiences after pneumonia. Thank you.

5 months post pneumonia
Hi Chloerh - so sorry for your ordeal and I do hope your doc can see you and check your lungs further.
I've had pneumonia, it did last a long time 7 months recovering, but your experience sounds just awful.
Perhaps give the nurses on the BLF helpline a call tomorrow, they may be able to give you a few pointers on what to ask to be checked etc.

Good news the xray was clear though.
Best wishes to you, keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on.
