Hi I wrote on here a bit ago re having this cough n horrible stuff being coughed up. I have been back yet again to my dr who has simply given me dymista and some antihistamines. The spray is doing nothing and I get attacks of coughing throughout the day. I find it really getting me down. Sorry to say but it’s green stuff I’m coughing up. Any ideas please?

Deezy24, strongly advise you get to a different Doctor ASAP. If you are in the UK, your best bet may be going to A&E right now, late as it is. If your sputum is green, it is quite possible, perhaps probable , that you have a lung infection and require strong antibiotics NOW. Best Wishes, judg69

Hello Deezy, has your sputum been tested for any infection? If not then that’s what needs to happen. Your doctor needs to be more helpful and maybe refer you to a lung specialist. Xxxxxxx

I agree with Judge69 in the fact it certainly sounds like a chest infection to me as well requiring antibiotic. As for the coughing which I suffer with on a daily basis due to having Bronchiectasis I have found that Asda sell a lovely Ginger cordial (£2.50) a bottle which I drink throughout the day, then from late evening and during the night if I wake I have pure pineapple juice and I have found after a few days I am coughing less and sleeping much better.
