Hi Kimmie52 i am under the fantastic care of Prof Denning & his team ,that is definately the place to go, i have aspergillis fumagatus in my sputum, i also have ABPA(alergic bronchi pulomonsry aspergillsis) people with Asthma or cystic fibrosis are more likely to have this. Good luck 😀
Hi Kimmie 52 ,just been under Dr denning clinic in Wythenshaw, they told me that most people have aspergillosis fumigatus in their lungs but nature normally allows it not to cause a problem ,only in people with low immune systems or chest problems.Although I had higher levels than normal I was discharged as my bronchiectasis was the main cause of the problem,if it had been aspergillosis which is more difficult to treat then I would be treated with antifungals but thank goodness that was not the case,Good luck with Wythenshaw it’s a fantastic hospital, was treated to the best care ever .
Hi like you I have broncoectasis and I have a compromised immune system apparently I have three forms of fungus in my lungs I must admit I very concerned as I cough up lots of blood and blood clots but you have reassured me thank you
Hi Kimmie, I have ABPA and exactly the same symptoms coughing up blood which is very frightening, I go to see the specialist tomorrow to discuss options for treatment, I hope you get sorted soon
