Is it possible to cough everyday or experience asthma symptoms almost everyday for the past 8 months? . I had several chest infections lately but im not sure if my coughing is because of my asthma.. The last chest xray that i had was one month ago and the impression was negative based on the radiologist.. Im so frustrated with this cough and i know somethings wrong with my lungs. I had a tb test also one month ago cause the doctors is suspecting a tb but it turn out negative..if its not tb then what could it be? Im. Also experiencing some some chest and back pain.. Im so paranoid and i worry a lot.

I started coughing in July 2012 and it went in September 2017! I didn’t have any symptoms beforehand but have since been diagnosed with uncontrolled asthma. I had many chest infections and was on the antibiotic doxycycline for about two years. It cut down the infections but didn’t get rid of them completely, nor did it stop the cough! This was changed to azithromycin last August and after about three weeks I stopped coughing. I’m also on four inhalers, antihistamine, a nasal spray, steroids and montelukast.

I did! Every single day! I also tried every other antibiotic under the sun, apart from azithromycin, as well as steroid syrup and steroids. It was a very dark time for me. I was a teacher and the coughing made my job very difficult. That, along with the RA flare brought on by a difficult Ofsted inspection, forced to retire three years before I planned to and six years before I could draw my state pension! The relief I felt once I’d stopped coughing was amazing.

Do you think your back and chest pain could be caused by the strain of coughing. As In the past I've pulled muscles in my side etc with the continuous coughing. But They do get better. This last winter has been the worst time for coughs for me. And I'm not over it yet. Just hope I can tolerate the Doxycycline reasonably and it works. I feel it's going to be a long 7 days.

Have you checked with your GP about this pain in your back & chest ? Might be worth going to see GP just for peace of mind.
